Barcelona has three (and possibly many more) beautiful churches. We had already visited the Sagrada Familia and Santa Maria del Mar last January, so we went to see the Cathedral (at the top) this time.
Santa Maria del Mar is the gloomiest and darkest of the trio with slender columns and subdued illumination.
Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia features equally slender columns and is flooded with light when the sun is in the right direction. Be sure to visit the inside!
Though still a very beautiful church, compared to these two, the gothic cathedral was a little less impressive from the inside. But the view from the rooftop was great!
